About BoxCheck
BoxCheck is a free web service that checks a PDF before it goes to print. Upload a file and see what could go wrong — explained in plain language, with no account.
Check a PDFWho it is for
Designers, prepress operators and printers — and anyone preparing a file for print for the first time. Explanations avoid prepress jargon wherever they can.
What BoxCheck checks
- Bleed
- Safe zone
- Ink coverage (TAC)
- Color mode (RGB/CMYK)
- Image resolution (DPI)
- Hairlines
- Fonts
- Document size and TrimBox
Where the thresholds come from is described in the methodology.
How it works
- 1
Upload a PDF
Optionally choose what you are printing and the print method — the thresholds depend on it.
- 2
Get a report
Issues are marked on the page preview, each explained in plain language with a hint on how to fix it.
- 3
Fix and re-check
Upload the corrected file and check again. The report can be saved.
The result is an automated hint, not a guarantee of how the job will print — confirm your file against your printer's requirements.
Your files
A PDF is processed in memory to produce the report; we do not intentionally store uploaded files. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
