Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This page describes what data BoxCheck handles today. The service is built to check files without keeping them.
Who is responsible
BoxCheck is the brand of a service provided by an individual, Volodymyr Kushnir. It is not a registered company. This individual is responsible for the data handling described on this page. Contact: [email protected].
Uploaded PDFs
A file is sent to our server only to be checked and is processed in memory. Some steps (for example the ink-separation preview) may use short-lived temporary files, which are deleted when processing finishes. We do not intentionally store uploaded files and do not use them for any other purpose.
The PDF itself is not sent to anyone other than our server and is never included in messages or requests (see below).
Messages you send us
Feedback form: your message and an optional email. If a check is open when you send it, context is attached automatically: the file name and file type, the product and print method, the app version and a random session identifier. The file's contents are not attached.
“We'll fix your layout” request: name (optional), contact (Telegram or phone), a note and a summary of the check (product, print method, issue counts and the names of the top critical checks). The PDF is not sent. For a manual fix you hand the file to us yourself in a private conversation once we agree on the work.
We use this data to reply to you and to improve the service. Please do not put sensitive information in a message.
Emails sent to [email protected] are received by our email service and forwarded to the operator's mailbox. We use them to reply to you.
Third-party services
As of today the following third parties are involved:
- Cloudflare — the network layer: traffic to the site and the API passes through a Cloudflare Tunnel.
- Telegram — delivery to us of feedback messages, “fix my layout” requests and technical server-error alerts (error type, its message and the request path).
- Google Sheets — a copy of feedback messages (text and email) is recorded in a spreadsheet.
- Our email-forwarding provider and the operator's mailbox provider — for emails sent to the support address.
Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted analytics system running on our own infrastructure. It counts page views and simple usage events (for example “file selected”, “check completed”, “report downloaded”). Events contain no file names, file contents or your contact details. The analytics does not use cookies. The site has no advertising trackers.
Data in your browser
The site stores your preferences in your browser's local storage: language, theme, saved check thresholds and the context of a fix request. This data stays in your browser; you can remove it by clearing the site's data.
Logs and rate limiting
To limit excessive requests, the server evaluates the visitor's IP address. The server software may keep standard technical request logs (for example IP address, path and time).
Payments
BoxCheck does not currently accept online payments or collect payment details. For the manual fix service, payment details are shown to you after your request. We plan to sell future paid tools through Paddle.com as Merchant of Record; this checkout is not live yet. Once it is, Paddle will handle payment data under its own privacy notice, and we will update this page before launch.
Questions about your data
If you have questions about your data or about messages you sent us, write to [email protected] or use the Contact page. We may update this policy; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
