Bars should print in a single ink — K 100, no C/M/Y — otherwise plate misregistration can ruin the scan. In CMYK mode the values go into PDF/EPS as-is; SVG and PNG hold only an RGB approximation.

Text under the barcode

Without text every bar has the same height. EAN-13 and UPC-A digits are vector outlines (no fonts); Code 128 text is live Courier — convert it to outlines in your layout if needed.

Size & print

PDF/EPS/SVG are vector files in real millimeters: place them in your layout and don't rescale (retail codes: only within 80–200%). Keep the quiet zone clear.

Scale, % of nominal: 100%

GS1 nominal: 0.33 mm module. 80–200% is allowed. The standard fixes the proportions, so height and width aren't set separately.
